Varicose Veins Treatment
Medical-grade solutions for the safe and effective treatment of varicose and spider veins.
What It Is
Varicose and spider vein treatments at Golden Aesthetic include sclerotherapy (injection of a sclerosant solution) and laser vein therapy, depending on vein size and location. These evidence-based medical treatments close damaged veins, which are then naturally reabsorbed by the body.
Who It's For
Patients experiencing varicose veins (enlarged, twisted veins typically in the legs), spider veins (smaller superficial networks of red or blue veins), leg heaviness, achiness, or cosmetic concerns about visible vein patterns.
Key Benefit
Treats both the cosmetic appearance and the underlying venous insufficiency — addressing the cause rather than just the surface symptom for long-term resolution.
How It Works
Sclerotherapy uses a sclerosant agent to chemically irritate the vein lining, causing it to seal shut. Blood is rerouted through healthy vessels. The treated vein breaks down and is reabsorbed. Laser therapy uses targeted light to heat and close small surface veins.
1
Diagnostic assessment establishes vein type, severity, and whether venous reflux is present using duplex ultrasound if indicated.
2
For sclerotherapy: a precision injection of sclerosant solution directly into the targeted vessel causes it to collapse and close.
3
The body’s natural processes gradually reabsorb the treated vein over 4–8 weeks, eliminating its appearance.
Areas Treated
Leg varicose veins
Spider veins (legs)
Facial spider veins (rosacea-related)
Reticular veins
Ankle and foot veins
Post-pregnancy vein changes
Comfort Level
Varies by treatment type and extent: 30–90 minutes
Treatment Process
Consultation
Vascular assessment and duplex ultrasound review with Dr. Eskandari. Photographic documentation and personalized treatment planning across multiple sessions if required.
Treatment Process
For sclerotherapy: cleansing of the area, precise injection of sclerosant into each targeted vessel, gentle massage, compression stocking application. For laser: targeted light pulses along vessel pathways.
Comfort Level
Sclerotherapy: mild burning sensation during injection. Laser: rubber band snap sensation. Compression stockings worn for 24–48 hours post-treatment.
Expected Results
Understanding potential reactions and ensuring safe, informed treatment.
Outcomes
Significant reduction or elimination of targeted varicose and spider veins; reduced leg heaviness and discomfort; improved cosmetic appearance.
Timeline
Treated veins fade progressively over 4–8 weeks. Multiple sessions (2–4) usually required for comprehensive clearance.
Longevity
Successfully treated veins are permanently eliminated; however, new veins can develop due to hereditary tendency, pregnancy, or prolonged standing.
Risk & Side Effects
Understanding potential reactions and ensuring safe, informed treatment.
Temporary bruising, redness, and mild swelling at injection or treatment sites
Temporary hyperpigmentation along treated vessel (brownish discoloration) which fades over months
Rare risk of allergic reaction to sclerosant — medical history review mandatory before treatment
Safety Note
All vein treatments are performed only after thorough vascular assessment. Contraindications including DVT history, pregnancy, and anticoagulant use are screened. Medical-grade compression is provided post-treatment.
